Ajuga ‘Blue Enigma’ is a large and rare bugleweed from Japan. Unlike most Ajugas, ‘Blue Enigma’ has saw-toothed leaves, rather than the usual rounded or lobed shapes. This is where it gets the common name of ‘Holly-leaf Bugleweed.’ It also clumps instead of spreading by runners like most bugleweeds. It has attractive, intense, mid-blue flowers that shoot up in Spring through early Summer. Perfect as a groundcover in partially shady borders or alongside pathways in dappled shade. Likes moist soil. Deer resistant.
